Is Sturvs Search Hibernating or Relaunching Soon?

Nigeria’s social bookmarking site, Sturvs recently launched a web search engine, but the search site has been disabled for some time now and this makes us wonder if it is hibernating or relaunching again. Earlier this year, I wrote a review of the search engine here.

Sturvs Search snoops the entire web for whatever word or phrase you give, and also displays results from Sturvs at the right hand column. The site serves as an efficient search engine for Nigerian content found around the Web, especially in Nigerian newspaper websites, social media sites, various Nigerian blogs and other places. Users get the very latest Nigerian stuffs from all over the internet brought together in one place.

Here is a screenshot of what it looked like before now

According to Sturvs Blog, the Sturvs team have disabled the search engine earlier in the year, not too long after launch, because they had to make a sharp change in technology. It promises to be relaunched soon packed with features that will raise the bar of online search in Nigeria.

Athough the search home page still exists, but when you do a search, you’ll be shown an error message like (Failed to retrieve XML search data). I tried searching for - startups nigeria - and below is what sturvs search showed me.

The Sturvs Search Engine has been on a beta version and has a sparse look like the Google Search. We would hope that Temi and the Antigravity crew would give us more details soon as to the relaunch of Sturvs Search.
